Qatar (ook: Katar) is een Arabisch emiraat in het Midden-Oosten, aan de Perzische Golf. Het is een schiereiland dat grenst aan Saoedi-Arabië en ten oosten ligt van Bahrein.
Aan het hoofd van het emiraat Qatar staat sjeik Hamad ibn Khalifa Al Thani.
